Primary Job Function:

The Lead Software Development Engineer is responsible for leading a team of software developers in full-stack development including LAMP stack, AWS infrastructure, Laravel, and Wordpress frameworks. Additionally, this leadership role acts as a technical go-to as well as providing hands-on development. The primary function of this role is to provide day-to-day management oversight of individual contributors, including performance management and recruiting activities. It requires:

Guiding developer and QA teams as they formulate stories that encapsulate a demonstrable business value
Building full-stack software solutions according to software engineering design best practices for maintainable extensible code and using approaches that allow incremental continuous improvement within the constraints of an existing technology stack, while taking advantage of opportunities to make the technology stack more effective
Maintaining consistent oversight and follow-through on tech support requests and resolution
Writing well-factored cohesive code
Leading initiatives in continuous integration/test/delivery
Pursuing technologies and techniques that accelerate the software delivery capabilities of the team

Primary Requirements:

Bachelor degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or equivalent experience
8+ years of hands-on experience building commercial software systems
Good strategic design and coding skills at the system and component level
A leader in web service, database test automation and unit test level TDD, continuous integration tool stacks, and in identifying areas of opportunity within the constraints presented
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communications skills – must be able to communicate technical issues and resolutions to key stakeholders in ways that provide genuine insight into design, risk mitigation strategy, execution progress, process, and quality
Ability to lead and mentor team members
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to track multiple test and deployment efforts simultaneously
Ability to work in an environment of fluid requirements and priorities
Ability to cross team boundaries to forge successful deliverable outcomes
Ability to elicit requirements from members of the organization as well as reverse engineer requirements from legacy code
