Current is the first streaming platform that pays you not the other way around. We provide free access to over 100,000 music stations and reward our users for time spent listening. We are working on a new more equitable business model that aligns interests and rewards listeners while also providing more value to advertisers. Throughout the streaming experience, users can opt-in to complete offers, share information, and engage with sponsored content to earn up to $600 per year.

Our goal is to provide a free superior music experience and additional income for the 90% of the world who can’t afford a paid streaming service, by sharing the revenue generated from their attention and personal data. We believe this business model will become the standard in the years to come and will transform the way human attention is measured and monetized.

Role Expectations:

Design and implement new features using the latest Android APIs.
Work on advanced areas of the Android system, such as lockscreen activities.
Lead efforts on architectural design, automated testing, continuous integration and build management.
Work with our design team to implement repeatable components as part of our design system.
Participate in design reviews, code reviews and functional demos.
Test quality through unit and functional test implementation and execution.
Keep up to date with state-of-the-art Android development.

Preferred Qualifications:

#1 - a real passion for the Android platform and state of the art tools and APIs
5+ years of significant experience with software development and debugging
3+ years of Android development experience
Experience shipping and maintaining multiple Android apps in the Play Store
Excellent analytical skills
You have a high standard for clean code
Experience writing unit tests
Strong communication & interpersonal skills
Experience with Git
Experience with MVVM “Model View ViewModel”
Experience with Kotlin is a plus
