Graphic Designer (Marketing)

About Atticus

Atticus is a venture-backed startup based in California. We offer free, high-quality legal help to people facing serious problems (think disabled people seeking government benefits, immigrants seeking visas, sexual harassment victims seeking justice, etc.) We’re a benefit corporation — a company that’s for-profit, but driven by social impact. (You can read more at www.atticus.law.)

This Project

We’re launching a new advertising campaign aimed at the 10 million Americans who are aged 40-65 and unable to work due to serious medical problems. Most of these people qualify for a life-changing government program called SSDI, which offers free health insurance and cash stipends — but it’s a nightmare to apply, and many don’t know they’re eligible. We’re working to change that.

We’ve built a new, powerful platform that helps people qualify for benefits (for free). Now, we’re launching an online & mail campaign (targeting 100,000+ households) to build awareness of it. The field has never had powerful, clean designs before, so this is a unique opportunity to create them.

Job Description

We’re hiring a graphic designer to build a set of marketing and advertising material. A large part of this will working with our existing brand and assets, but there’s a great deal of room to be creative. We have four distinct categories of material we need:

  • Static Display Ads (example) for Facebook + Google Display Network
  • Animated Display Ads (example) for Facebook
  • Printed Postcards (example) for direct mail campaigns
  • Printed Booklets (example, example, example) for direct mail campaigns

We’d love to find a designer who could tackle all four of these, but we’d also be open to hiring specialists. We hope this will be a long-term relationship. We’ll pay well and be an engaged partner.

What We’re Seeking

You’re a designer with a great portfolio, including the types of work described above. You’re open to a flexible project whose workload will vary over time. You’re fun and easy to work with: you’re a good communicator, collaborative, responsive, low ego, punctual, and dependable. (We think/hope we share those qualities!) You’re willing to experiment and try multiple variations of a given design.
