Business Data Analyst

Role Description
Salesforce is seeking a highly analytical, articulate, business savvy and collaborative Business Data Analyst to join our Salesforce Innovation Center team. This role requires a mix of business analysis, operational support, and systems aptitude. We are looking for someone with the ability to pull together data sources, generate insights and recommendations, and create compelling dashboards, presentations and other visual displays that accelerate decision making. The work products have high visibility as the team is chartered with assisting the Chief Innovation Officer, SIC Leadership, Sales Leadership, and EVP of Strategic Business Operations in making data-driven strategy decisions. This is a dynamic job where you will be able to influence key business decisions with your insights and recommendations.
Deliverables include:
Detailed business analysis, analytic models, reporting, dashboards and presentations for Salesforce executives.
Responsibilities:
Understand business challenges, KPIs that need to be improved and metrics driving the business
Advise SIC leadership by sharing observations and insights found in the data that drive scale, effectiveness, and productivity. Acquire, transform, manipulate and analyze data from multiple sources, ensure data quality
Develop reports, dashboards and data visualizations; draw key insights and leverage them to help set the strategic agenda for the business. Deliver insights & recommendations
Collaborate with Data Warehouse and Big Data team to process customer usage, product, sales, marketing and system interaction data
Assist in developing and delivering presentations for senior executives
Prepare ad-hoc analysis in the support of specific initiatives
Assist in troubleshooting operational issues as they surface; propose changes to systems/ processes to fix root causes
Work collaboratively with IT and other supporting groups
Required Skills/Experience:
3-5 years of experience focused on data analysis, quantitative analysis and business reasoning
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field from an accredited university.
Self-starter and high degree of motivation to go above and beyond the task at hand
Exceptional problem solving skills: demonstrated ability to understand business challenges, structure complex problems, develop solutions
Strong presentation skills, especially related to building compelling PowerPoint presentations
Work experience in consulting, finance, or product management is a plus
Experience with SQL and Business Objects, and Office tools (Excel, Powerpoint or GDoc equivalents) to create reports and presentations
Experience with Tableau
Experience with Salesforce technology (Dashboards, Analytics Studio) strongly desired
Experience with Data Science, Statistical Analysis and development are a definite plus
Background in consulting is a plus
