About the Role

RainFocus is looking for an intern to assist the operations team with market research. Daily tasks will include researching events across the US, quantifying the event metrics, providing insights from the data, managing the database of findings, and other ad-hoc requests as needed. This will be 20-30 hours per week and can be flexible around school schedules.

Essental responsibilities:
  • Data Research
  • Manage a predefined list of events from across the US, researching, collecting and organizing data and information into a digestible format
  • Become familiar with the events industry, including market segments, key players, common terms, and various nuances in event management
  • Uncover unique paths to discover difficult-to-find information and contacts
  • Build formulas in Excel or Google Sheets to provide insights from the data
  • Salesforce.com Data Entry
  • Learn to navigate Salesforce.com CRM
  • Leverage Discover.Org and LinkedIn to capture key event contacts and enter the details into Salesforce.com
  • Create basic Salesforce.com reports to track data progress
  • Build Database of Q&A
  • Document questions and answers for tough data issues
  • Document tricks of the trade for finding information on events
  • Assist the operations team with related tasks and analysis of market data
  • Other Ad-Hoc projects as needed


Required skills:
  • Currently working toward bachelors degree
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, and ability to learn quickly in new systems
  • Advanced experience using Google’s search engine and deep navigation of web pages
  • Understanding of basic data management best practices
  • Awareness of project management skills and commitment to timelines
