Zero Senior Card Production Engineer (Nashville)

OVERVIEW


As an early member of our manufacturing engineering team, you’ll have a direct impact on the success of Zero by building out our card production capabilities.  You'll ensure we are able to deliver high-quality credit and debit cards on time to customers across the country by owning and facilitating all operational functions including planning, organizing, and developing and executing card production.  Overseeing and monitoring the performance of operations related to safety, quality, delivery, cost control, and customer satisfaction means your job will be as exciting as it is fulfilling.



YOUR ROLE


- Interfacing with stakeholders at Zero headquarters in San Francisco and managing operations in our Nashville partner facility


- Operating a computer-controlled robotic laser engraver to personalize cards in an secure manufacturing facility


- Being a change agent to drive out waste and find efficiencies throughout the manufacturing process


- Responsible for identification of continuous improvement initiatives


- Ensure strong, effective communication with San Francisco and with partner employees in Nashville and third party vendors


- Support scalable processes by owning the operational requirements


- Assure a clean and safe work environment, emphasizing prevention of potential problems and hazardous conditions


- Ensure accuracy and proper conduct of all quality control processes



QUALIFICATIONS


- Bachelor's Degree or higher in engineering, manufacturing technology or related field preferred


- 5+ years payment card industry experience working in a card manufacturing or personalization capacity


- Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment


- Fluent with lean manufacturing concepts (value stream mapping, JIT, Kazan, etc.)


- Strong organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills to lead and coordinate multi-functional team projects


- Able to lead and manage other employees as a coach and mentor


- Experience with software and database systems


- Ability to have 24/7 access to company email and deliver mission-critical results


- Enthusiastic collaborator and clear and precise communicator in speech and writing inside and outside of Engineering


- A track record of successful, substantial projects


- A keen eye for beautiful and functional industrial design


- Passion for building a world class financial services product
