CGI Inc. Senior Data Cloud Architect -Azure

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data & AI Architect as we embark on a long-term, IT modernization and transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will join the Data & AI team of one of Canada’s top employers and will be making a significant impact and contribution to the Canadian economy.
This role will be central to developing and implementing the strategy to achieve a desired future state for Data Management and Analytics & AI solutions on Cloud.


Your future duties and responsibilities
Lead data strategy and architecture initiatives, drive transformation and modernization of clients’ big data environments to support data science and analytical needs.
Lead data, Analytics and AI strategy discussions and help to build a vision around client business objectives and desired outcomes. Guide the strategy and associated technology choices for client-specific solutions.
Provide throughout technical leadership in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modelling, data governance, data integration, data persistence, data discovery, analytics solutions and AI/ML.
Facilitate discovery workshops, articulate the value proposition, build solution architecture with an associated roadmap and communicate business value to clients.
Lead the development, implementation and enforcement of data and AI governance structures and processes associated with architecture.
Establish best practices and consistency across various Data on Cloud solutions. Design and build highly reusable and scalable cloud-native data and AI ecosystems.
Provide technical expertise and support sales, marketing and proposals teams.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Master’s or PhD degree in computer science, information technology, mathematics, business, statistics or equivalent working experience.
7+ years of experience architecting, designing and developing large scale Cloud and on-premise Data Management and Analytics Big Data solutions.
7+ years of related experience working with one or more ERP, CRM, MDM, BPM and IOT systems such as Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics or Pega.
• 7+ years of experience working with one or more SQL and NonSQL databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Redis, Cassandra, MongoDB and Solr.
7+ years of Data Warehousing and Data Lake experience.
5+ years of experience with batch and real-time data transformation and streaming technologies such as Talend, Spark, Kafka, Databricks and AWS Glue.
• 5+ years of experience working with analytical and data visualization technologies such as Power BI or Tableau.
• 5+ years of experience in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), REST and SOAP API communication.
3+ years working with AWS or Azure Clouds.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
Knowledge of modern software development methodologies and practices such as Agile, Extreme Programming and SDLC.
Knowledge and practice of methodologies related to data privacy and security.
